Cultivating Coherence

with Spinal Attunement Method™

A gentle approach to healing, cultivating wholeness utilising the innate intelligence of the body.

Coming to Ocean Shores in November 2026!

Spinal Attunement Method™ works with both the physical body and its subtle energy. Through gentle touch, it helps your body move out of a stressed, on-alert state and into a calmer, more restful one. In this settled space, your body can begin to let go of tension and old patterns it may have been holding for a long time, often without you even realising.

Whether you tend to feel wired and anxious or shut down and stuck, this practice meets you where you are. Rather than forcing change, it trusts your body's own wisdom to heal, offering a gentle path back to balance and ease.

Over time this work allows space to unwind chronic tension patterns held in the body allowing the spine to awaken, movement to return and healing to occur.

Integrated principles: Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Traditional Vedic Science, Esoterics and Somatic Healing.

Each session begins with a conversation. Drawing on my psychotherapy skills, I take time to listen to what's troubling you and together we set an intention for the session. We then move onto the table, where I gently activate specific touch points, including points used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, to help your energy flow in its natural rhythm again. This supports your body to shift out of a stressed, on-alert state and into a calmer, more restful one.

My work is a mix of somatic and other bits: I integrate psychological exploration, nervous system work and somatic processes to explore how lived experiences, emotional responses, learned beliefs, behaviours and physiological responses interact.

We not only explore what you have experienced, but also how those experiences have been interpreted and internalised, shaping your understanding of your Self, relationships and the world. We examine psychological patterns and nervous system responses, alongside the somatic experiences through which these patterns manifest.

The mind, nervous system and soma are interconnected. Psychological experiences can influence physiological responses, bodily sensations can influence emotional processing and nervous system responses can shape perception and behaviour.

Our aim is not simply to change how the body feels, but to work with the psychological, neurological and physiological patterns that influence how we experience life.

By working with the mind, nervous system and soma, we explore how protective patterns developed and how new responses can be supported.

Understanding why a response developed is an important part of understanding how it may change.

Lasting change begins with understanding how psychological experiences, nervous system responses and embodied patterns interact, helping us work with the processes that shape how we experience ourselves and the world.

Because the nervous system is capable of change, patterns shaped by past experiences do not have to define our responses in the present or determine how we experience our future.

I am holding outdoor sessions close to Uki if weather permits. Email or text for bookings.

How does Spinal Attunement Method™ work?

What does a session look like?

step 1

Intake: We start the session with a little chat about your current situation: what you are experiencing at the moment and what brought you to try Spinal Attunement. Then we will set an intention of how you would like to feel instead.

step 2

Spinal Mapping: I identify the precise locations of tension and restriction along the spine through a visual assessment where I get you to stand. This includes gentle touch on your spine. Then I will invite you to lie face down on the table barefooted to measure the length of your legs prone and lifted up 90 degrees. After that, I will do spinal palpation to find tight spots along your spine. This allows me to determine the primary point of activation.

step 3

Activation points: We continue the session by activating the determined activation point and let the spine guide us through the energetic and physical cues of the body. Throughout the session, your body may begin to unwind in its own way. You might notice changes and deepening in your breathing, gentle shaking or trembling, soft waves of movement or emotions rising to the surface. These responses are completely normal and part of the unfurling process. They are signs that your nervous system is letting go of old patterns and finding its way back to safety and balance. We reevaluate and measure the length of the legs prone and 90 degrees again and might move towards a 2nd activation point depending on if we have time and you have the space for that.

step 4

Integration: We reevaluate and measure the length of the legs prone and 90 degrees for the last time of the session. Afterwards we allow some time for integration and you get to enjoy a 15min sound bath before you continue your day. Bring your journal!

Somatic work that activates

Neurogenic Healing.

Neurogenic healing works with your body's natural ability to release tension and stress on its own. During a session, your body may begin to unwind in its own way. You might notice gentle shaking or trembling, soft waves of movement, emotions rising to the surface or changes in your breathing. These responses are completely normal. They are signs that your nervous system is letting go of old patterns and finding its way back to safety and balance.

Signs your nervous system may be stuck in survival mode:

Feeling flat, stuck or shut down

  • Stress and exhaustion

  • Anxiety

  • Hypervigilance

  • Difficulty slowing down and relaxing

  • Irritability or aggression

Feeling flat, stuck or shut down

  • Depression

  • Lethargy

  • Lack of motivation

  • Procrastination or difficulty starting things

  • Emotional numbness

  • Dissociation (feeling detached from your body, mind or present experience)

  • A tendency to isolate and withdraw

Ways to cope or escape

  • Addictive numbing behaviours, such as emotional eating, excessive exercise

How it can show up in the body

  • Sleep challenges

  • Digestive problems

  • Ongoing fatigue

  • Lowered immunity

Spinal Attunement gently unwinds the autonomic nervous system where automatic, unconscious responses are stored allowing movement to return and healing to occur.

Want to train with us?

A gentle reminder that one space remains at our super early bird rate for the Byron Bay training, 15% off, until this Friday, 31 October.

Five days this March, 11 to 15, in person with Sigourney, in the hills behind Byron Bay. A small, intimate circle, in a place that holds you the moment you arrive. Where neuroscience meets the subtle body, and the method moves from understanding into your hands.

If something in you has been quietly leaning toward this, perhaps that is worth listening to. The last super early bird place is open, and to step into it you would simply complete your application and have a clarity call with us before the 31st. If it feels right, there is still a little time to begin.

You can apply here: https://portal.somamystica.com/soma-mystica-application-new-programs

Please mention my name when you apply :)
